Ikan Girl is an interdisciplinary music and theatrical dance production based on an ancient Malay poem known as Syair Bidasari. Ikan Girl was highly praised as an original contemporary Singaporean work that incorporated movement vocabulary from Malay dance, bharatanatyam and contemporary dance genres and featured new music of a unique compositional style that imbues the flavour of traditional Malay music with captivating sound colours.
